Word of the day.
Alluvial soil: "alluvium" is loose soil that includes particles of varying size (silt, clay, sand, gravel) which has been eroded from something and then gets deposited and reshaped by water, in a non-marine setting. If it gets cemented together, it is called an alluvial deposit. Alluvial soil is apparently a rich and fertile soil - one reason that civilization began at the Tigris and Euphrates was that these rivers deposited a great deal of the stuff between them, creating an alluvial desert.
Passing thought of the day.
What do women who wear make-up do, when they find that they need to rub their eyes?
